Breast Cancer Awareness Month – A Peek into my Chemo Art Journal
October is Breast Cancer awareness month and as most of you know, I am a breast cancer survivor of four years in November. I speak often for the American Cancer Society raising awareness and funds for those diagnosed and research. I have been sending out some reminders regarding ladies, doing your self checks and getting your mammograms if you are of age or at risk. Since I can’t be with you in person, I’d like.to do a.little virtual make and take (or tutorial) to make your own planner.embellishment. Enjoy. I’m using my friend Donna Salazar’s awesome and sweet products. You might be saying, what if I don’t have those particular supplies? They are awesome I tell you but if you don’t here are some other options I found. Download, size accordingly and print off a face such as this one from the Graphics Fairy which is seen here. Then print off a crown here or here. Cut out, color, embellish, glue to a clip and enjoy in your planner.

The Strength in Scars
Scars . . . we all have them. Some are visible, some not. Some are emotional, burned onto our soul while others are there for the world to see. Some are scars we just see. Some we hide, some we can’t. No matter, scars are reminders of where we have been, what we’ve endured and how we’ve made it out with the choice to tell our story. Easy Bag Upcycle
Do you have odds and ends, scraps of beauty, little pieces, bits and baubles in your art/craft area or studio? If you’re like me, there are all those pretty bits that I have a difficult time saying goodbye to. So, recently I washed a linen bag with a logo on it and when I took it out of the wash, the logo was gone. I needed to add some loveliness to this comfortable bag of mine so I grabbed some beautiful pieces, made some fabric flowers, brought out some stamps, used some tacky glue and started to simply add some dimension and fun to my bag. National Scrapbook Day Wrap Up and Giveaway
Some of you probably celebrated the crafters holiday; National Scrapbook Day on May 7th. I hope it was filled with craft, art, color and friends. I spent the day with a lovely group of ladies. I worked on some mixed media projects, shared some Fiskars love and I did my ‘Brave Girl’ make and take once again to introduce participants to the wonderful wOrleans of Brave Girl University. Be You. Bravely
It’s been a while since my last post and for good reason. I returned from Idaho and an amazing Brave Girl University teacher retreat. Shortly after that on a Sunday night, I began to experience some internal bleeding and a lot of pain. It landed me in the hospital for three days with ulcers and then rest for an additional four days after that. So I’ve been a little MIA but I’ve been doing some extra resting and returning to normal. It’s been a while since I’ve blogged. One I was fighting off that nasty winter cold, family was in town for the holidays, boat parades, birthdays (my daughter turned 17 and my niece 2), and lots of other activities in between. But I’ve also got some fun artsy news. I had a friend reach out to me and ask if I was interested in participating in a project called Sketchbook West.
