Sending Love with DIY Postcards
A couple of weeks back one of the gals in a very special circle of crafty friends mentioned that Mark Montano was doing a DIY Handcrafted Postcard Swap. The idea is to create your own postcards (ten to be exact), pay a small fee for handling, mailing and sorting, send to Mark and receive ten other postcards from around the world. It was a project to share a little love and care during these wild times in our world. Isn’t that kind of Mark Montano? I was really excited to be a part of the post card swap as it was a way to spread a little love. Here’s a…

The Gift of Presence
Around the holidays we can get caught up in getting and giving the perfect or enough gifts. The reality is that often we can’t remember what gifts we’ve gotten in years past but we do remember the memories of being together. The most important gift is, the gift of presence. A few friends and I celebrated just that on Monday. We met when I was a lead Fiskateer and we met through the lovely fun wide world of crafting. What a blessing these ladies have been in my life. Through paper and scissors, I have gained a group of lifelong friends. While crafting brought us together, and I’m so grateful…

Open Market OC
A relative shared with mom and I about Open Market OC located in the former Macy’s space of Laguna Hills Mall. I had the day off so Mom and I decided to check it out. Bonus, there was a Farmer’s Market as well in the parking lot. Fresh produce, a hat vendor (score), fresh flowers, food, cheese, pasta, avocado oil and more. Oh the cheese! We split a Berry Something Crepe. It was an infusion of berries, a little lemon topped with graham crackers. It was amazing! The vendors were really nice. The Farmer’s Market is there every Friday. Check out some photos below. We went into Open Market OC.…

Home and Adventures
“But until then, and right now, the sun is bright, the air is cool, my head is clear, there’s a whole day ahead of us, we’re almost to the mountains, it’s a good day to be alive. It’s this thinner air that does it. You always feel like this when you start getting into higher altitudes.” ― Robert M. Pirsig Montana and Wyoming were amazing as always. I can’t wait to share more as I document our trip to Glacier National Park, Montana and Alberta, Canada. We’ve never been to Glacier or Canada so that’s a treat! Of course we had to visit Yellowstone again as well. With adventures like sleeping in…

Laguna’s Art Festival
I have never taken for granted the blessing of growing up and being surrounded by an art culture here in Orange County, California. You find art everywhere and in every culture. It is however, a treat to have grown up minutes away from Laguna Beach where artists reside, amazing galleries are open for viewing year round, and Laguna Beach’s Art Festival takes place year after year during the months of June through August. This Festival includes the world renown Pageant of the Masters (which I usually attend each year), the Sawdust Art Festival, Art A Fair and more. This is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to events.…

Las Laguna Gallery Artist Reception Invite
Hello family and friends, I wanted to share some fun news with you and extend an invite to join me at the Las Laguna Gallery Artist Reception from 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. I have an art piece that’s been chosen for the Unique Abstraction Exhibition. Usually on ‘Art Walk Thursday’s’, this time on Saturday, this artist reception will be a pleasant time to connect with the artists, learn, and enjoy Laguna Beach. I would love to see you there if you’re local. It’s a great event. Las Laguna Gallery is located adjacent to the Cliff restaurant. Hope to see you there. Sending warmest creative wishes! Below is a sneak…

Gone Junk’in
It’s a term used for going to flea markets, garage or estate sales, collecting things old and sometimes making them new, keeping some things in their old state, and digging for treasures. Maybe it’s a love my mom instilled in me to find amazing deals, taking something old, decorating and appreciating the history and beauty of things past. My mom has an amazing knack for interior design and many times she’s found incredible pieces of furniture that have amazing value and beauty for a fraction of the price. I’ve been doing it for a long time and was junk’in when it wasn’t cool. Patina is one of my favorite hues!…
