Create a Living Canvas – Art Journaling Entry

While some things in our lives we CANNOT control, some things we can. Often we can determine the outcome of something. For example . . . the principle of planting, is that you will reap what you sow. You plant and put in the hard work, you’ll usually always get a good harvest. The principal of giving is that you give, it will come back around to you. Our lives can be a blank canvas and often we can choose to ‘create’ a canvas that is full of color and joy. So often it’s a choice. Even with the things we can’t control, we still have a choice in how…

Beautiful Differences – An Art Journal Entry

Dina Wakley does an art journal challenge titled “Show Us Your Media.” This month the challenge is . . . “I’m grateful for color.” I was thinking about the beauty of the different colors – the orange, pinks and reds of a sunset or the shades of green on the coast of Ireland. We are each unique with a special DNA, personality, gifts, talents, skin tone, hair color and more. If we were all the same, what a boring…

Joy . . . sometimes it comes easy and other times, not so much. In today’s world, there are a lot of voices, noise, chaos, differences, and more. Many of us are hunkered down due to a pandemic. Maybe you aren’t feeling very joyful about what’s taking place. When I am having moments where joy isn’t on the forefront, there are a couple of practices that always seem to help bring joy. Focus on gratitude – make a list (either in your head, on paper or in an art journal). It helps you to look outside your circumstances. Unplug and enjoy nature. It brings a lot of peace and joy…
