Meaningful Soul Words – Part 2

If you missed Part I . . . a great list of ‘feeling and soul words’ you can check it out here. But here are some prompts also on the sheet that I thought would be great for art journaling.  This is what I took from the sheet and wanted to share. We are in the midst of ‘busy’ season . . . I encourage you to take a moment out of your busy schedule and ask yourself . . . how do I feel?  It’s important.  Sometimes ‘busy’ can be an enemy to our physical and mental health . . . I say that from experience. Pinpoint which soul…

Meaningful Soul Words – Part 1

As we approach the new year . . . I can’t believe it . . . 2015, I thought this so appropriate.  I have some other fun things to share as well on the horizon including a book that my husband and daughter gifted me for Christmas having to do with art and prayer.  Love it. I recently ran across some information I thought was so good when dealing with emotions.  Finishing up this last year, we do some reflecting – some of us had a great year and others are happy to put it in the past.  With the new year brings a clean slate, a new beginning and possibilities.…

A while back for Throwback Thursday I shared a little video tour of the Window of the Soul Art Journal Tag Tour.  Today for Throwback Thursday, I’d like to simply share an art journal tour based on the study of a book called just that, “Windows of the Soul” by Ken Gire.  I hope you enjoy.  Just a relaxed little peek. Throwback Thursday – Window of the Soul Art Journal Tags Tour

It’s Throwback Thursday of a different kind.  I’m adding content I previously lost . . . of some oldies (videos, tutorials, projects).   ADD PHOTOS OF TAGS This one here . . . several years ago I taught a different kind of book club class.  We would read a chapter or two of this awesome book by Ken Gire called Windows on the Soul, convene together, talk about what we learned, I’d teach a technique on a tag and then we’d each create an art journal page with portions of the book that spoke to us.  This is a little tour of the tags I created for the class/techniques I…

Right Now Monday, Love Will (The Power of Love)

Right Now, this Monday . . . I feel the Power of Love. The Power of Love is an incredible thing.  I recently was thinking about all the ways people have loved us through our challenges the last couple years.  I was pondering and asking how I’ve loved others.  Then I began to think about the ‘Power of Love‘.  Yes, those of you in my generation probably hear Huey Lewis singing the words . . . the Power of Love.  As seen on YouTube here. But seriously, I was thinking about how someone knowing they are truly loved, it can change a life.  An action, (not just words), can move someone…

Right Now Monday – Be True to You

Right Now, Today, This Monday . . . Right Now . . .  today, I am focusing on the importance of caring for myself and being true to me.  So often, we think that caring for ourselves is selfish.  Well, it’s not.  We need to care for ourselves so that we in turn can be better friends, parents, employees, spouses . . . whatever role we fill.  We aren’t of any help to others around us if we aren’t healthy. I’m speaking to myself here but possibly it will be something that speaks to your heart.  Right Now, taking care of and being true to myself involves; Set safe and healthy boundaries.…

Throwback Thursday – Grow Journal Tour

Our choice, to choose a path of positive growth or otherwise. A Little Art Journal Tour.  This is an art journal in progress in the ways that I’ve grown or need to grow . . . Right Now Monday: Be Kind to Unkind People, They Need It The Most

Wow . . . I read this statement earlier in the week and didn’t know it would ring so true.  It was posted (and then reposted) by a radio station.  It especially made sense when I had an experience (and opportunity) to be kind to an unkind person. If you don’t mind reading for a moment . . . one of you may need to hear what came to mind as I experienced a very angry and unkind individual.  But this presented an opportunity. I was headed to meet my daughter and mom.  I entered a very busy shopping center and found an individual that was getting ready to leave.  I…
