    The Coast Vintage Market

We’ve had a little rain here in Southern California but Sunday was a beautiful day and a respite. Mid morning my hubby and I headed out to The Coast Vintage Market where one our friend is a vendor. We found some There were an abundance of treasures! We enjoyed speaking with vendors, and our friend. I purchased wooden gift tags that will go to a handful of special folks. It was awesome to hear him share that the burgundy wooden tags came from a wine barrel and even had wine crystals on them. Others came from barns or even from vintage military crates. We also purchased a tealight holder made…

    Peak Creative Time For You

I’ve always been s night owl however after going through breast cancer treatment a few years ago, I found that my body can’t stay up that long anymore. Even though this is true, I still find that the peak creative time for me is in the stillness of the night when all is quiet expect for my imagination.  In fact, sometimes it’s hard to turn off. After being sick for several days and having a lot on my mind, I enjoyed the quite prayerful creative time to watercolor and doodle. I loved watching how the colors fell on the watercolor tin and n the paper. The hues when mixed made…

    Planning in 2019

Bo Bennett said, ‘A dream becomes a goal when action is taken.’ So true! This year I chose to go with a smaller planner that I could tote to work or around town. I chose the Jane Davenport Planner as I love teal! I really try and make it my own and add little mixed media elements throughout the year. I thought I’d share with you some sights from my planner for January. Whether you’re a planner or not, I encourage you to write your dreams and goals down! Sending warmest creative wishes,

    The Gift of Crafting Together

Saturday was a gift crafting with new and old friends. I had the pleasure of teaching a holiday make and take using fabulous Colorbox products. Check it out below. It is always a gift to craft together. The laughs while creating with your hands is good for the heart. See below a couple ways to use this technique ad these products. Also see some crafters who enjoyed the make and take. It got very busy so these were the only crafters I was able to snap in a photo. Love their smiles. Wendy Crafts, you do an amazing job at your events. Thank you! For the poinsettia tag below, here’s…

    Easy Sweet Crafted Candy Canes

Need a quick mini gift or something to beautify the top of a gift? Here is a quick, fun, inexpensive idea.  What you’ll need: Chenille pipe cleaners in red and white, a pair of scissors, Smooch Spritz (I used Spun Sugar – one of my favorite colors), scrap piece of fabric, safety pin, small ‘shipping’ tag and some plastic to cover your area. The How To: Take red pipe cleaner and wrap it diagonally around the white pipe cleaner until used up. Trim the excess. Bend your red/white striped pipe cleaners into a candy cane shape. It doesn’t need to be perfect, in fact if it’s not, it gives it…

The Importance of Planning in December

The holidays can almost be a blur because of the busyness that can come with the season. I want to make sure however that I enjoy the family time, the traditions and the giving season. One thing that helps me get a head start for the season is my planner; whether it’s a shopping list, keeping the festivities or appointments straight or just handling the everyday tasks. It can be a crazy season and planning helps to ‘keep the spirits bright’ and organized. I thought I’d share my planner view . . . it’s certainly a ‘blush’ palette. Somewhere along the line I lost my lovely pen. I absolutely love…

    Create It Your Way

I so admire ladies who have perfect planners or make perfect cards. I’m not like that. I’m more of a shabby mixed media girl. I just try to embrace the imperfection and go with it. I encourage you to do the same to. Be you, create it your way and be completely fine with it. Here are a couple of cards I created with not a lot of ‘perfection.’ Same technique, slightly different, and hoping they bring some joy to their recipients.  Warmest Creative Wishes,

Speaking Words of Truth into Your Life

Most of us want to live a successful life, make a difference and leave a mark on the world. One of the biggest battles we fight on a daily basis is in the mind. I encourage you to create reminders at home, work and even in your car of truth words, Scripture, uplifting quotes and more. There is power in whole and good words.  I created a quick tag and let words just surface. It’s important to speak encouraging truth to others but also just as important to speak truth to ourselves. It’s okay to spur yourself on. Tell yourself things like, “You are strong and brave and can do…

Brave Girl Art ~ Displaying Truth

While at the Brave Girl Symposium I had an opportunity to create some ‘Truth Tags’ and thought I’d share them with you. Having reminders of light and love throughout the house can be uplifting. I taped my tags together to create a little accordion formation that stands.  You can create your own truth tags with any surface including paper, cardboard, chipboard, etc. Stamp or cut out words and images that speak to you. Color, paint, and decorate your tags.  Remember, you are loved. Warmest creative wishes,
