Been A While & An Idea for Your Leftover Easter Egg Dyes
Greetings. It’s been a while. Life has been a bit crazy lately on this end. I hope you’re well! I have been a little M.I.A. but I’m on the mend. For a few weeks I had been putting in quite a few hours at work and then . . . pneumonia. So I’ve been off for a couple days resting and healing! I plan on sharing some posts here in the next couple weeks surrounding my creative planner. I hope to do a little wrap up for each three months of the year. I love that my memory and creative planner are helping me to document life (that seems to…

Amazing Brave Girl Soul Restoration Course Coming Your Way
Hello dear ones, On this Labor Day, I’d like to share something near to my heart. Speaking of labor, life can be hard at times. It can be painful (a different kind of labor) but it can also be victorious. Some of you know about Brave Girl Soul Restoration and some of you don’t. I wanted to take a minute to share as this week the revised Soul Restoration course will be released on-line at Brave Girl University. I had the blessing many years ago to be a part of a beginning of the Brave Girl movement. I went to the second camp and there Melody shared with us about our ‘soul…

Art Journaling – Video Gallery and List of Techniques
Oh how I love to art journal. I hope one day my daughter and her kids and my great grand kids might enjoy my art journals. I love to create in them and get my thoughts on paper in an artful way. I have so many different journals and over the years I’ve recorded my thoughts using numerous techniques. This video is around 15 minutes but goes quickly. But I might encourage you to pull up a cup of coffee or cool lemonade, kick your feet up and rest. I thought I’d share with you a video gallery of my journals as well as a list of just some of…

The Strength in Scars
Scars . . . we all have them. Some are visible, some not. Some are emotional, burned onto our soul while others are there for the world to see. Some are scars we just see. Some we hide, some we can’t. No matter, scars are reminders of where we have been, what we’ve endured and how we’ve made it out with the choice to tell our story. It’s been not quite 3 1/2 years since I had a double mastectomy due to a breast cancer diagnosis. About a year after this major surgery and several surgeries after that, I endured some very deep emotional scars due to a tragedy that took place in our…

The Love of Wonder
Oh how I love my journals. They are my friends. When I’m feeling down or happy, I love to create in them and often what is inside pours out onto the pages of my journals. It was no different with this page I titled ‘Wonder’. I thought I’d share and would encourage you to think about the following . . . What is wonder? 1 wonder play noun won·der \ˈwən-dər\ : something or someone that is very surprising, beautiful, amazing, etc. : a feeling caused by seeing something that is very surprising, beautiful, amazing, etc. : something that is surprising or hard to believe We can live busy lives and…

A Sketch A Day, Keeping Stress Away
About a year ago as I showed up for my oncology and surgical checkups and noticed my blood pressure inching it’s way higher. When we had a mandatory wellness check at work my blood pressure was extremely high and they sent me to my doctor. My ticker was good but bp wasn’t. That explained the headaches too. I’ve taken some steps to bring that bp down. I’m sure weight was sone to do with it but stress from the last three years (personally and physically) is also a major culprit. One thing I am trying to make a habit of is doing is create each day which seems to really relax me. I had participated in a…

Up to Something Artsy
It’s been a while since I’ve blogged. One I was fighting off that nasty winter cold, family was in town for the holidays, boat parades, birthdays (my daughter turned 17 and my niece 2), and lots of other activities in between. But I’ve also got some fun artsy news. I had a friend reach out to me and ask if I was interested in participating in a project called Sketchbook West. Las Laguna Art Gallery in Laguna Beach hosted this fun project in 2015. In our sketchbook we’d sketch, paint, and create in our smallish book. From there we took some of the inspiration from our books and created larger pieces. CHosea…

The Beauty of ‘You’ness
I love that there are no two people alike that roam this earth! That is an amazing fact. Even identical twins will not have the same exact experience. Each of us have a unique purpose as well that no one else can fulfill. Each of you have special and unique characteristics, personalities and perspectives! I recently created a custom angel for a beautiful red-headed girl with blue eyes. She is a doll. Below are a few photos of the piece. I wanted to encourage you to think about how your ‘you’niqueness and how special you are. Below is a great art journaling prompt or just take a few minutes and enjoy…

It’s a Crafting Holiday
Yes, for those who enjoy arts and crafts . . . this coming Saturday is like a national holiday. Saturday represents the Superbowl of Crafting . . . National Scrapbook Day . . . always the first Saturday in May. But some local stores and venues . . . festivities will even start the night before (Friday) and they go all throughout the weekend. I’ll be spending Saturday with dear friends creating away but wanted to leave a little tutorial for you. It’s a mixed media card I created using a finger painting technique to create clouds. The card is simple, quick and could be used for an assortment of occasions. Here’s what I used and what…
