    Every Day Creativity

The last blog post I shared, I talked about taking a risk and sharing your art with others. I love that my planner is just that . . . a planner that helps me stay organized but that also provides a bit of space to be creative each day. The benefits of being creative each day are amazing. Here are just a few: Self-Expression – helps you express yourself sometimes when words can’t Releases Endorphins – the happy hormone Studies have shown it helps reduce stress Increases our steps toward bravery and promotes a feel of accomplishment Allows thinking outside the box; improves problem solving Helps you improve relationships by…

Encouragement to Take a Risk with your Art

When you share you’re art, you’re sharing a piece of yourself. I think so often we are critical of ourselves and our art and that might hinder from moving forward with promoting our work. When I’ve submitted my work to a magazine company which I do regularly, there have been times that they chose to publish pages from my art journal that I most likely wouldn’t have. That old saying, ‘Beauty is in the eye of the beholder’ rings true. With that being said, I want to encourage you to share your art, don’t listen to naysayers, and move forward in spreading color and your beauty in this world. Be…

Today Marks 5 Years – Thank You! Hope and Love Always Wins

It’s 2:30 in the morning and I just awoke with an overwhelming thankful heart! First, thank you! Thank you! Again, thank you! I still get overwhelmed with gratitude in my heart and tears in my eyes. While a little lengthy, please read. I have something I want to tell you from my heart. Think of me across a table, sharing a cup of joe or tea looking in your eyes with sincerity and after sharing my heart giving you a hug. 5 years ago I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma Breast Cancer. From ‘Day One’ I did not fight alone, but rather was lifted up by family, friends, co-workers…

    Studio Snapshots

Well, we’ve just moved but before we did so, I took a couple snapshots of my studio.  Now to set it up again.  This is a happy place for me where I can get lost.  It relaxes me, encourages me and hopefully inspires others.  Wishing all a restful and inspiring Sunday.

Breast Cancer Awareness and My Journey Thus Far

As many of you know, I was diagnosed with breast cancer five years ago.  I have not fought alone!  In fact, my uniform of the day states just that.  You have lifted, encouraged, supported, given, loved so much and I cannot begin to thank you.  You are an amazing force of support! I’m so saddened to say that in the last six months I have lost two friends to cancer.  I have another that is fighting hard.  Cancer touches all of us. With October being ‘Breast Cancer Awareness’ month, I wanted to share something I found that I thought was good information.  Recently a dear family member was called back…

    The Planner Society Crop Recap

Hello all, Its been exactly a week since I attended the Planner Society Crop.  You probably saw a ton of photos surrounding this fun time.  It had been quite a while since I had seen Christy and what an amazing venue to attend.  This event was so much about amazing product and projects for your planner, giveaways, new friends and old, shopping, swag, swaps (planner gifts and planner goodies) and most importantly, investing in one another’s lives. What an amazing community the planner community is.  Oh the friendships that were made!  Absolutely precious.  Since photos are worth a thousand words, I wanted to share several photos from this past weekend. …

    Cars and Candy Canes

As some of you may know, most years I’ve planned an annual tour in the Fall to visit Logan’s Candies.  It’s a great way to ring in the holiday season and spend time with family and friends.  Find a peek of past events HERE and HERE. This year when I needed to send information in during the month of August (yes, for a November tour), we were in Montana settling our daughter at Montana State University.  No worries though . . . we will shoot for another private tour in 2018.   We’ve celebrated the season for many years by visiting Logan’s and I’m hoping that won’t change. I did…

    Miraculous Strength

As many of you know, my husband and I just returned from Montana settling our daughter at Montana State University. It was an amazing trip, amazing university, beautiful place, incredible faculty and education, special time connecting with old friends and family and so much more.  Of course it was difficult leaving our girl there (I wanted to stay as well), however our little birdie is ready to fly and she is doing just that!  I see her strength! So we are back to ‘the grind’ here in California.  So much has been taking place; friends who are ill, the devastation in Texas, friends who are struggling and more. It got…
