DIY Gel Press Card & Ways to Show Your Friends Love

These days can bring many challenges. People are stressed, worried, uncertain and in need of some reminders that they are loved. I thought I’d share a recent card I made with my Gel Press Heart Petite plate which can be found HERE or HERE.. It’s a simple and easy card but made with ‘heart.’ I simply used Staz-On permanent ink to stamp images onto the Gel Press Petite Heart plate. I let the Staz-On ink dry, then pulled the print by brayering a think layer of Royal Talens pink paint over the stamped image.. I then cut out the hearts and sewed them to the front of the card. I…

    Got Five Minutes?

Just five minutes? The Ugly Art Club (TUAC) hosted by the fun Tiffany Goff Smith, Kristin Petersen, and DeeDee Cantron, offers a five-minute challenge to create and promote a daily habit of creativity. It’s a blast. Any medium. While I’ve had a lot taking place at work and home and haven’t been able to take those five minutes a day. But that doesn’t stop me from trying when I can. I find it so therapeutic. Feel free to follow the TUAC on Instagram HERE and follow along. Hopefully we follow one another on Instagram as well. Create along with me HERE. Here was my couple of takes thus far .…

    Hope for the Holidays

For me and mine, we celebrate Christmas during this holiday season. It’s a time of hope, comfort and joy. Even with loss and challenge, we still find the joy in the season because of all that it represents. You may celebrate the season differently. Whatever the holiday season looks like for you, know you’re thought of and cared for. For us it’s been quiet and different. We’ve had some healing to do and are laying low. But nonetheless, we pray we’ve been able to share some joy to others, and know we have experienced great blessing ourselves. I’d like to leave you with a little encouragement especially if this year…

    Instagram Jam

Instagram is such a visual platform. A lot takes place there. Some of you may be Instagram peeps, others not. I find it interesting that there is certainly a different group of people on Instagram, than on Facebook. I did want to share some of my Instagram activity that I haven’t shared here on my blog. Maybe you’d like to pop on over just to take a peek. You can check it out here. Either way, I’m wishing you a lovely week. Warmest Creative Wishes,

    Artistic Christmas Gifts

Recently I attended a boutique/craft fair and met the sweetest artist, Mindy Thompson. While she and I favor different mediums, we had plenty to talk about and chatted for quite some time. I’ve used resin (her medium of choice) on smaller scales for jewelry. To see her work on larger scales was so wonderful. I took some photos of her work (with her permission) and even bought a few things. I recently saw her at another boutique and she was probably one of the busiest booths. Her work is gorgeous, and prices are so reasonable for such unique pieces. She incorporates resin on platters, dishes, wood trays, coasters, shelves and…

Using your Gel Prints in Projects

During this month of October, Gel Press is doing a fantastic print-a-long. Check out all the fun HERE. Different mediums, techniques, and substrates, this fun Print-a-long, is sure to inspire you. Gel Press shared a video today that I creaded using fabric as texture. What do you do with the prints? For me, all kinds of things, but in this case, I created a jewelry bezel with the print. The print adorns the inside of the resin bezel seen below. Of course I had to use some pink, as it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Additionally, I’ll be sharing some projects for Breast Cancer Awareness Month with the Gel Press ribbon…

    Turn Up the Music

Creativity is an amazing commodity in today’s world. I worked with a fellow artist for many years who helped forge a break through in fighting cancer. You see, science and math are not the only things that can help ‘find a cure’ or develop the next amazing invention. ‘Out of the box’ thinkers and Creatives also play a key role in solving problems or developing something that will enhance our lives. We all play a role. Some of us are mathematians, others artists, still others are good with fixing things. If you’re like me, I’m not a great mathematian, however I am creative. Like I shared, creativity has great value…
