Do Not Fear
Well, things have been a bit quiet on the blogging front for good reason. These past couple weeks I had pneumonia and what a feat to get back on my feet but here I am! I wanted to share a recent project that was titled ‘Do Not Fear’. I’m wondering where are you on your journey . . . For me recently my work life and outside involves lots of newness. I’m learning so much but I’m also fighting off the fear and having to trust. I’m trusting that the road before me has taken a different direction but it’s going to be a good one! I’m trusting that although…

Inspiration IKEA
Well, I’ve been down with pneumonia for a little over a week. Today was the first day I did normal things and felt like an actual living person. Anyhow, we headed to IKEA . . . cinnamon roll and coffee x3 for about $5. Then we walked the floor. While some of the things I may not put in my home . . . I may put something similar in my art journal. Other things, I would certainly put in my home. Love the lace curtains, shabby lamps and more. Sweet A sure enjoyed the inspiration as well. Can you tell I was happy to be among the living? I…

Fave Crafts Best Blogger Project 2015 – Are You Up for Inspiration & a Vote?
I had the blessing of attending an awesome event at CHA the last several years that FaveCrafts hosted for creative bloggers. You may have seen a picture or two on Facebook of the event this past January. What fun! FaveCrafts does an awesome job and the manufacturer sponsors . . . so generous. Last year I was able to attend by my energy level from chemo was still on the brink. I didn’t participate in the Best Blogger Project 2014. This year . . . I’m popping up for some air . . . literally as I was told today by the doctor that I have pneumonia. Better than cancer I…

A Mini Class, Laughter and Good Health
Recently, I had the opportunity to spend some creative time with some of my dearest friends. It was impromptu and the special time we had priceless. When we get together sometimes I enjoy challenging or teaching them a mixed media or art journaling technique new to them. I had packed three erasers and some stamp carving tools. Each of them created the cutest stamp individual to them and which shared their personality. Tanya carved a bird, Sylvia a paintbrush and Mary a cool abstract shape. I wanted to remember our mini class, the laughs and the blessing of these lovely ladies. These times are so good for the soul! Thus,…

Artsy Findings Store Closing ~ New Things on the Horizon
What is and What was. We have had the blessing of owning the Artsy Findings store for many years. Click here or go to www.artsyfindings.com then to the header tab above that says Shop. Times are changing and so is this store . . . it’s an antiquated system they have and we are making changes as well so here we go. GCD Studios closed their doors a year or so ago and we kept the store running with some of the much wanted ChipArt tools and accessories available. We also kept in stock older lines by Melody Ross that we had in stock that were so popular. Well, our inventory…

My Favorite Things Stencils ~ A Review and some Thoughts
A while ago I was asked to review stencils from MFT Stamps. As you know, I love stencils . . . what mixed media gal wouldn’t. So here are some honest thoughts about My Favorite Things stencils. Here are some images where I used the stencils. Please see below the photos some tips and a review. I found some fun patterns and had difficulty choosing just five. Find them here. One of my favorites I was sent was ‘Jumbled Letters’. There are some great patterns to choose from. While I love the variety, I think it would be fun to see some randomness in the stencils. Ie. Crooked hearts, not…

Right Here, Right Now Monday – Making a Choice Before the Storm
I found this in my drafts and thought it so appropriate as the East Coast of the U.S. is preparing for a historic snow storm. Thinking of all who will be affected. If you fancy, grab a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy the read. I hope what was on my heart encourages you today . . . or another day when the storm comes for you. It will come. I have always been impressed with people that prepare. We live in a world where quite often we live for today and don’t plan for tomorrow. Some people are good at financial planning, others not so much. Some are…

Upscaled IKEA RIT Dyed Throw
I love some of the collections at IKEA. Do you have an IKEA near you? But often you may find something you love but it doesn’t fit your color scheme. RIT dye to the rescue! I can’t remember when I didn’t use RIT dye in my home. A beautiful Ofelia throw from IKEA for $19.99, a bottle of RIT for $5.33 (Hobby Lobby has it cheaper) and some water you have yourself an upscaled lovely throw for your home. I shared in the RIT Studio. Have you ever visited? Have an idea to share? A great place to do so. I have some other ideas I’m itching to get to. At CHA they had dye…

Right Now, This Monday – Thoughts on Making a Difference
I feel it so appropriate that on Martin Luther King Day I had on my heart to share some thoughts on ‘making a difference.’ From a man who made an incredible and profound impact on society, Martin Luther King, Jr. is an example of ‘making a difference’ with his passions, tenacity, experience, and personality. We can make a difference exactly where we are at right now. We can make a difference with our words and actions! Words are so powerful and to use them to make a difference can be such a gift to another around you! We each have a unique fingerprint like no other in this world . .…

CHA 2015 Goodness & Wrap Up
Oh so many highlights of CHA! I’m going to try and make this to the point because there were so many highlights as always. I try to do a recap video style each year or event . . . this one is about ten minutes long but if you didn’t get a chance to go I think you’ll enjoy the sites. Grab a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy. Of course I missed some . . . I would have liked to have gotten to but this will give you a little flavor. A highlight I just found out about . . . Way back when I had…
