    Gel Press Tag Flip Through

So I’m teaching a collaborative class coming up soon. I’ll be teaching the arty portion, while a friend will be teaching more about a different subject. I can’t wait to share more so stay tuned. Knowing that we will need to create several tags fairly quickly, I thought I’d use the Gel Press Gel Plate. I love my Gel Press! The following quick video is a flip through of some quick tags I created to use as bases for class samples (not completed tags). Wishing all a beautiful day and warmest creative wishes!

    Artists that Inspire

I know when I’m with creative like minded friends and people, it’s like these little sparks go off and ignite a great creative fire. There is so much inspiration in this world and so many different kinds of art. I am inspired by a variety of different artists that use different mediums. These are a few. Eda Kaban is a favorite with her whimsical fun characters and scenes from life. You can find some of her work HERE. Eda Kaban Dennis Wunsch is a personal and dear friend and former next door neighbor. Dennis is an award winning illustrator who has been featured in articles, magazines, books and advertising. His…

    Planning in 2019

Bo Bennett said, ‘A dream becomes a goal when action is taken.’ So true! This year I chose to go with a smaller planner that I could tote to work or around town. I chose the Jane Davenport Planner as I love teal! I really try and make it my own and add little mixed media elements throughout the year. I thought I’d share with you some sights from my planner for January. Whether you’re a planner or not, I encourage you to write your dreams and goals down! Sending warmest creative wishes,

    The Gift of Crafting Together

Saturday was a gift crafting with new and old friends. I had the pleasure of teaching a holiday make and take using fabulous Colorbox products. Check it out below. It is always a gift to craft together. The laughs while creating with your hands is good for the heart. See below a couple ways to use this technique ad these products. Also see some crafters who enjoyed the make and take. It got very busy so these were the only crafters I was able to snap in a photo. Love their smiles. Wendy Crafts, you do an amazing job at your events. Thank you! For the poinsettia tag below, here’s…

    Create It Your Way

I so admire ladies who have perfect planners or make perfect cards. I’m not like that. I’m more of a shabby mixed media girl. I just try to embrace the imperfection and go with it. I encourage you to do the same to. Be you, create it your way and be completely fine with it. Here are a couple of cards I created with not a lot of ‘perfection.’ Same technique, slightly different, and hoping they bring some joy to their recipients.  Warmest Creative Wishes,

Speaking Words of Truth into Your Life

Most of us want to live a successful life, make a difference and leave a mark on the world. One of the biggest battles we fight on a daily basis is in the mind. I encourage you to create reminders at home, work and even in your car of truth words, Scripture, uplifting quotes and more. There is power in whole and good words.  I created a quick tag and let words just surface. It’s important to speak encouraging truth to others but also just as important to speak truth to ourselves. It’s okay to spur yourself on. Tell yourself things like, “You are strong and brave and can do…

Brave Girl Art ~ Displaying Truth

While at the Brave Girl Symposium I had an opportunity to create some ‘Truth Tags’ and thought I’d share them with you. Having reminders of light and love throughout the house can be uplifting. I taped my tags together to create a little accordion formation that stands.  You can create your own truth tags with any surface including paper, cardboard, chipboard, etc. Stamp or cut out words and images that speak to you. Color, paint, and decorate your tags.  Remember, you are loved. Warmest creative wishes,

    Wearing Words of Encouragement

As some of you know, our girl and I took a road trip to Montana. We planned a stop in Boise, Idaho for a few days to be a part of the Brave Girl Symposium and then we planned on heading up through Northern Montana to Glacier National Park and on into Canada before getting her settled for school in Bozeman, MT. Well, plans changed due to fires but our time in Idaho had moments of fun and friendship. It wasn’t without it’s own challenges with some health issues but we did have some fun moments and I was able to see old friends and meet new ones. Abigail and…

The Real You – In Art

While I’ve been healing, I’ve been going through Melody Ross’ course called The Walk. It has been amazing to help walk through some things that might get us stuck in life or to creatively put truth down on paper so that you can be reminded of what to listen to . . . the Truth. We all need that reminder sometimes. I’ve spent some time drawing, sketching, etc. while also pondering. One of the exercises is to journal what we know about ourselves. See images below of my page which folds out of a book that Melody encourages us to create. There are maps which help us walk through things…
