Many of you have heard that creativity Is good for the mind and soul. Well we need things that will improve our mental health, state of mind, and soul during this crisis. I’ve been fighting pneumonia so when I have the energy, creating encourages me and boosts my spirit. I have been pondering a lot about the creativity that I see as we navigate through these uncharted waters and times. I’ve seen people get creative in showing kindness, making or securing supplies they need, sharing with one another, being safe but showing you care, protecting themselves, and more. Making Paper
One thing during these ‘Stay at home orders’ that I’ve learned and practiced is to use what you have and to simplify. The other day I wanted some funky simple paper that I could tear apart to use for collage. I couldn’t find what I needed so I quickly pulled out some old ink and made what I was looking for. Viola, your own paper great for use in art journals, cards or scrapbook pages. Materials I used included a handmade foam stamp, Glimmer Mist, paint brush, gelli plate, stencils, bird punch, rubber stamps, acrylic paint, brown paper bag, pastels India Ink, Tim Holtz Oxide spray and even a discarded…
