Eileen Hull Sizzix Chapter 2 Release Party – An Open Journal

Welcome. I’m so thrilled you’re here joining us for the Eileen Hull Sizzix Chapter 2 Release Party. Maybe you’re starting at this post on Artsy Findings, or you’re starting at Eileen Hull’s blog. Either way, you’ve entered the blog hop zone full of inspiration, ideas and fun. Eileen’s team is featuring Eileen Hull’s Chapter 2 Folio coordinating dies manufactured by Sizzix, as well as this darling 3-D trailer BIGZ die. The team is specifically featuring the Card, Waterfall and Tags Die Set, the Book Binding Die, and the Bigz L Camper Scoreboards die. I love the versatility of Eileen’s dies . . . so many possibilities. So I encourage you, grab a cup of Joe or tea, sit down and enjoy.

I wanted to bring you an out of the box album. I’ve been wanting to do an open type of mini book, and here was the perfect opportunity. I chose not to use the folio cover for this mini book, however it is an amazing journal die that I now have purchased for my collection. But for this little mini book I used the Card, Waterfall, and Tag Die Set, and the Bookbinding and Label Set alone. I enjoyed creating this coverless book and used the bookbinding die as the spine. I used tags as pages for the inside of this book as well as lots of Gel Press prints and other trinkets to fill the mini book. This kooky gal featured on the cover, I think we will name her Gladius, is housed in this book as well as well as some other interesting characters. This mini measures about 5 1/2″ x 5″.

The mini book I created is a reminder to myself, that even though I’m kooky and sometimes nutty, what I have to offer (and what you have) is important to those around us. Remember you are special. Consider making your own sweet reminders. Squash those negative thoughts, and create reminders of to help you live out loud with passion.

You’ll want to check out all the different ways the team used these dies on the Blog Hop. Click through and leave a comment here and on each of the designers’ posts for your chance to win a $25 gift certificate in Eileen’s Etsy Shop! Below the gallery of photos, listed are the blog hop participants/Eileen Creative Team Members. Be prepared to be wowed.

Join us on Facebook Live and YouTube Live for an up close and personal look at the team’s projects. Eileen will also demo how to use the dies during the Live segment.

I hope you can join us in this fun event and be prepared to be inspired. Thanks for hopping along.

The cover, featuring Gladius, is created by the Bookbinding die and provides an open cover. The back of the bookbinding die serves as the spine of the book.

The inside pages are made up of tags from Eileen’s new tag die set, material, gel press prints, and more. Note that one of the tags has a slit and serves as a pocket for other tags. Love it. There are hidden little tags among this book and fold outs too. Can you spot them?

Note that the page on the right flips out and also has a hidden tag that flips over like a page, within a page. Gladius is all about being interactive and outgoing. Note that Fido, Gladius’ dog has a hidden his little lace morsel in a secret pocket that pulls out to say . . . ‘A strange and wonderful place. You will find it.’ Gel Press prints make for a colorful and unique background. If you’d like to know more ab out Gel or Mono printing, you’ll find lots more on my blog.

The last pages and back cover help to complete this chunky funky mini book.

Don’t forget to make a comment on each designer’s blog for your chance to win! Enjoy and I hope this encourages you to create with a positive outlook in mind. Warmest creative wishes!
