Laguna’s Art Festival
I have never taken for granted the blessing of growing up and being surrounded by an art culture here in Orange County, California. You find art everywhere and in every culture. It is however, a treat to have grown up minutes away from Laguna Beach where artists reside, amazing galleries are open for viewing year round, and Laguna Beach’s Art Festival takes place year after year during the months of June through August. This Festival includes the world renown Pageant of the Masters (which I usually attend each year), the Sawdust Art Festival, Art A Fair and more. This is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to events.…

Gone Junk’in
It’s a term used for going to flea markets, garage or estate sales, collecting things old and sometimes making them new, keeping some things in their old state, and digging for treasures. Maybe it’s a love my mom instilled in me to find amazing deals, taking something old, decorating and appreciating the history and beauty of things past. My mom has an amazing knack for interior design and many times she’s found incredible pieces of furniture that have amazing value and beauty for a fraction of the price. I’ve been doing it for a long time and was junk’in when it wasn’t cool. Patina is one of my favorite hues!…

My Favorite Find at Pinner’s Conference ~ Loddie Doddie
So I shared a wrap up of the Pinner’s Conference here but I’m thrilled to share my favorite product find. Oh my do I love my Loddie Doddie Chalk Markers! Loddie Doddie is a young wonderful company. I can already tell that their founders and their way of business is warm and wonderful. Their product is amazing. When Matt welcomed me to the booth and put a marker in my hand, I was floored at the difference in the markers I purchase at my local craft stores. Loddie Doddie markers are creamy and smooth. There colors are saturated and they have a beautiful choice of palettes. My favorite color choice…

This is a bit of a long post but many of you have inquired and I thought I’d share some sights and experiences we had. I’ll be sharing a favorite product I found. Oh dreamy! Soap Making and Essential Oils
What a fun evening we had on Friday night with our friend Bonnie who invited us for a soap making event, dinner and a time of learning about essential oils. We enjoyed our time together making beautiful and luscious soaps. It was so simple and has so many possibilities. My girl got really creative with the fresh flowers and created some amazing designs. Bonnie shared with us how to make several different types of soaps from Castillo and Honey to Goat’s Milk and one which we added Cocoa. Check out the results. Bonnie and I are talking about some future make and take options that I’m thrilled to share in…

Making Old Things New
Who doesn’t love new. In the new year we enjoy that everything is fresh and new. Who wouldn’t like a new bike, new home or new car? But there is a great beauty about taking things of the past and making them ‘new’ . . . repurposing. I thought I’d share with you a little collage of some fun vintage repurposing ideas. If you click on the caption below each photo, it will take you to the link where the item can be found. The list could go on and on. A wonderful thing is that these days you can find things that look old but for a much smaller…

The Coast Vintage Market
We’ve had a little rain here in Southern California but Sunday was a beautiful day and a respite. Mid morning my hubby and I headed out to The Coast Vintage Market where one our friend is a vendor. We found some There were an abundance of treasures! We enjoyed speaking with vendors, and our friend. I purchased wooden gift tags that will go to a handful of special folks. It was awesome to hear him share that the burgundy wooden tags came from a wine barrel and even had wine crystals on them. Others came from barns or even from vintage military crates. We also purchased a tealight holder made…

Brave Girl Art ~ Displaying Truth
While at the Brave Girl Symposium I had an opportunity to create some ‘Truth Tags’ and thought I’d share them with you. Having reminders of light and love throughout the house can be uplifting. I taped my tags together to create a little accordion formation that stands. You can create your own truth tags with any surface including paper, cardboard, chipboard, etc. Stamp or cut out words and images that speak to you. Color, paint, and decorate your tags. Remember, you are loved. Warmest creative wishes,
