Become
While I am far from perfect, I do have the desire to be the best me I can be. I was shaped for a specific purpose, just as you where. This is exactly why we shouldn’t compare. Realizing that in order to Become the best me I can, I need to focus on truth. Not half of the truth, (that usually gets us in trouble) but the whole truth. In order to Become a purpose filled vessel that shares light and hope and encouragement through my story, I need to listen to the Voice of truth. Listening to the Voice of truth will set my course of direction. So often…

Gel Press Tag Flip Through
So I’m teaching a collaborative class coming up soon. I’ll be teaching the arty portion, while a friend will be teaching more about a different subject. I can’t wait to share more so stay tuned. Knowing that we will need to create several tags fairly quickly, I thought I’d use the Gel Press Gel Plate. I love my Gel Press! The following quick video is a flip through of some quick tags I created to use as bases for class samples (not completed tags). Wishing all a beautiful day and warmest creative wishes!

Soap Making and Essential Oils
What a fun evening we had on Friday night with our friend Bonnie who invited us for a soap making event, dinner and a time of learning about essential oils. We enjoyed our time together making beautiful and luscious soaps. It was so simple and has so many possibilities. My girl got really creative with the fresh flowers and created some amazing designs. Bonnie shared with us how to make several different types of soaps from Castillo and Honey to Goat’s Milk and one which we added Cocoa. Check out the results. Bonnie and I are talking about some future make and take options that I’m thrilled to share in…

Inserting Art (or your passion) Into Your Career
I’ve always had a desire to create and from a young age and enjoyed participating in art contests and creative events. I even had an opportunity to draw/create a logo for my softball team in Elementary School. As I matured, I always kept an art element in my life. I never had any formal art training but I would paint, create, teach, sell some of my artwork, collaborate and write as well. Another passion of mine . . . from a young age was the desire to serve my community and to enter into a law enforcement career which I did for most of my life. Throughout my law enforcement…

Making Old Things New
Who doesn’t love new. In the new year we enjoy that everything is fresh and new. Who wouldn’t like a new bike, new home or new car? If you click on the caption below each photo, it will take you to the link where the item can be found. The list could go on and on. A wonderful thing is that these days you can find things that look old but for a much smaller…

The Coast Vintage Market
We’ve had a little rain here in Southern California but Sunday was a beautiful day and a respite. Mid morning my hubby and I headed out to The Coast Vintage Market where one our friend is a vendor. We found some There were an abundance of treasures! We enjoyed speaking with vendors, and our friend. I purchased wooden gift tags that will go to a handful of special folks. It was awesome to hear him share that the burgundy wooden tags came from a wine barrel and even had wine crystals on them. Others came from barns or even from vintage military crates. We also purchased a tealight holder made…

Peak Creative Time For You
I’ve always been s night owl however after going through breast cancer treatment a few years ago, I found that my body can’t stay up that long anymore. Even though this is true, I still find that the peak creative time for me is in the stillness of the night when all is quiet expect for my imagination. In fact, sometimes it’s hard to turn off. After being sick for several days and having a lot on my mind, I enjoyed the quite prayerful creative time to watercolor and doodle. I loved watching how the colors fell on the watercolor tin and n the paper. The hues when mixed made…

Planning in 2019
Bo Bennett said, ‘A dream becomes a goal when action is taken.’ So true! This year I chose to go with a smaller planner that I could tote to work or around town. I chose the Jane Davenport Planner as I love teal! I really try and make it my own and add little mixed media elements throughout the year. I thought I’d share with you some sights from my planner for January. Whether you’re a planner or not, I encourage you to write your dreams and goals down! Sending warmest creative wishes,
