Diving into the Word – Summer Bible Journaling
The Summer is all about diving into activities, a change in weather and all it has to offer, the swimming pool and more. Recently I’ve been working on getting healthier and the good weather that Summer brings helps with this process. I’ve been taking an Aqua Fit class that’s fun and beneficial.
I was thinking about Bible Journaling and how it too is diving in but having fun! Diving into the Word of God to touch and guide our hearts and fun because Bible journaling is a fresh way to record what God is sharing with you in the margins of your Bible. I see Bible journaling also as a way of worship as I meditate on what God is sharing with me and recording it in a creative way.
While I’ve done a lot of art journaling surrounding Scripture outside of my Bible in mixed media books, on canvas’ and more, it wasn’t until very recently I ordered a journaling Bible to start to keep it all in one place. It was under $25. It wasn’t a huge journaling Bible like some you’ll find (I would love to have one of those too), but I do have a love for smaller things. The Bible is a beautiful linen finish with a lovely pattern. It came in a beautiful box as well. In addition to my new Bible, I’m using the most precious New Testament travel themed devotion from Illustrated Faith. My first entry in my Bible (seen below) is about walking with the Lord and the comfort that He is always with us, even when we may not feel it. It was so good. I can’t wait to dive in to the next one. I added some books of the Bible tabs and I also made some clips (like I would in a planner) from material and paperclips. These serve as great markers for special messages throughout your Bible. I thought I’d share. See captions below on details of how I captured a message God was pressing on my heart.
How about you? Do you enjoy journaling in your Bible? Well, it doesn’t even need to be inside the pages of your Bible. You can record what God or life is teaching you in an art journal, on a canvas or more. I just encourage to do it. What are you thoughts?
A little tidbit, I completed writing a mini devotional. I need to do some editing and creating but I’m hoping to offer it here in the near future.
Have any questions, feel free to ask.
Warmest creative wishes,

I love the idea of Bible journaling, but I’ve never done it. I just can’t bring myself to write/color in a Bible! I have done other faith-based artwork though. đŸ™‚
