The Gift of Presence
Around the holidays we can get caught up in getting and giving the perfect or enough gifts. The reality is that often we can’t remember what gifts we’ve gotten in years past but we do remember the memories of being together. The most important gift is, the gift of presence. A few friends and I celebrated just that on Monday.
We met when I was a lead Fiskateer and we met through the lovely fun wide world of crafting. What a blessing these ladies have been in my life. Through paper and scissors, I have gained a group of lifelong friends. While crafting brought us together, and I’m so grateful we share this passion, we have journeyed through so many different peaks and valleys of life. We’ve walked through life’s greatest moments and helped one another through life’s toughest times. I am so grateful for these friends who enrich my life and accept me for who I am! These friends are kind, giving and beautiful.
Our group gets together throughout the year but have made it priority to get together during December to enjoy celebrating each other’s presence. We usually plan a little craft or project for one another, but it’s not required. This year we met for lunch at a great pizza place called Wise Guys Pizzeria in Yorba Linda. Excellent food and service!
We visited, talked, caught up, and shared with one another. Then we crafted. I put together a little kit for a little mini ornament as well as a distressed card. Sylvia created a darling tag!! Love the candy cane! Susan gave us some cute ornaments, and Tanya made the sweetest clay ornaments for us to paint or color, and even gave us some clay to create our own personalized clay project. She provided some great Jane Davenport Journal Tattoos too. Precious! We enjoyed talking and crafting together. I love how each of us puts our own spin on things. The time together was the greatest gift!
How will you emphasize the gift of presence this season? Wishing you and yours the precious gift of presence! #grateful #thegiftofpresence

What a beautiful and needed move towards people time. I miss this a lot these days with communication so easy via phones and social media. I commit to reach out to give and receive the gift of presence. Thank you, Cheryl.

This was such a special day together with you and the other ladies. Friends/friendship was so much on my mind the last half of the year. This photo makes me so happy- that I have friends I can always count on and know that they will always be there for me in my highs and lows. Love you!!
