Quick and Easy Gift Bag – Using Your Stash

I’m all about using my stash and during the holidays, your stash can come in very handy. A couple of things I keep on hand regularly is plain kraft-colored bags, tulle, and small gifts. Pair these things together with Sizzix dies and the possibilities are endless. I wanted to share a quick tutorial for a cute handcrafted gift bag. You can take this same concept and make a matching card as well.

I used a Sizzix Tim Holtz Bigz Die titled Reindeer Flight which someone gifted me a couple years ago. It was used but I loved it. Here’s the how to to make a stamp and quick and cute gift bag.

To Create the Reindeer Stamp

Supplies Needed:

• Thick Craft Foam usually found at Michaels as seen HERE. Color doesn’t matter.
• Sizzix Die Cutting Machine
• Sizzix Favorite XL Bigz Die (in this case – a Reindeer) A wreath would look darling too
• Tacky Glue
• Scissors

The How To:

1. Cut out a die shape from the thick foam sheet.
2. Using Tacky Glue, adhere the shape onto the remaining portion of the foam sheet to use as a base. Trim.
3. Allow to dry thoroughly.
4. Ink, stamp and enjoy.

To Create a Quick, Easy and Simple Gift Bag

Supplies Needed:

• Handmade Foam Stamp
• Ink – Your choice in color but white stands out nicely against the kraft- colored bag
• Pine Branch Die cut or Branch punch
• Tacky Glue
• Tonic Nuvo Crystal Dots or puffy paint
• Ranger Stickles Glitter Glue/Accent – Clear or White color works well

The How To:

1. Stamp the custom-made foam Deer stamp (or preferred shape) on to the bag with ink. I prefer pigment ink for this project as it provides a ‘juicy’ image
2. Glue the branch shapes around the deer’s neck
3. Add Nuvo Crystal Dots
4. Randomly add Stickles on branches for a frosted look

Allow to dry before giving. That’s it. A simple handmade look in minutes.
