My journey as a Brave Girl Sister, A New Chapter and Giveaway *WINNER CHOSEN

BARBARA IS A WINNER OF THE GIVEAWAY.  THANK YOU ALL!  WARMEST CREATIVE WISHES!

My journey as a Brave Girl Sister.  I can’t begin to share what my Brave Girl sisters mean to me.  I can’t express it in words or take the time!  But I wanted to share with you a little history on Brave Girl Camp, a friendship that started many years ago and a new chapter.

In 2010 I was working in the arts and crafts industry for Fiskars (the orange-handled scissor company) as a lead and founding Fiskateer (craft ambassador).  I met a dear friend through the industry, Gail Lopez who told me she couldn’t wait to introduce me to someone she knew I would connect with.  Well, I knew of her for sure as I had been a crafter for many years.  Well, sweet Gail introduced me to Melody Ross.  From there, it was an incredible ride.

Melody had asked myself and a small group of other artists to attend one of the very first Brave Girl Camps in Idaho (February 2010).  From there we met Melody’s wonderful family who I fell in love with.  We had an amazing life changing time.  We laughed, we cried, we loved, we ate, we lived, we sang, we broke chains, we danced and we started friendships and stoked others that would last a lifetime.  We were pampered, we were warmed.  Every little detail a part of the whole experience.  I had a new family of sisters.  Scroll down to the bottom for a short testimonial of my experience . . . Hi I’m Cheryl.

I taught for GCD which sold Melody’s incredible product – both consumables (paper and embellishment lines) and Chip Art tools.  Later, I purchased Artsy Findings, a company that Gail and Melody started together and made it my own.

In 2012, I went back to Brave Girl Camp as a staff member.  Again, my sisterhood family grew and I was amazed by the continued circle of sweet ladies that would enrich my life.  Some old friends, some new.  I worked hard and for some reason I was more tired than usual on that trip.  Shortly thereafter I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.  Little did I know that these sisters would be such a dear and amazing part of my support circle.

(I’m not in this photo as I was taking it but do you notice the gals are in a shape of a heart?)

When Melody would visit California on business, we always made it a point to get together.  As well, we would both attend some of the same art events.  We kept in touch year after year.  I did so with Kathy her sister too!  Precious.
