Happy National Cheese Day

Yes, today is National Cheese Day. Cheese is one of my favorite foods. Glorious cheese.

I thought I’d share some of favorite finds and cheeses that are readily available, at least in my corner of the world. Some great places to find amazing and unique cheeses include World Market, Pavilions, Trader Joes, specialized cheese stores known as cheeseries or fromageries.

These are a few of my favorites. Beauty and preference is in the taste buds of each individual. Here are a few of my favorites. I’m not going to list any goat or Chevre cheeses here. We will save that for another day.

  • A Dutch Masterpiece De Jong Rembrandt Gouda Cheese – I love a good Gouda on a board or sandwich
  • Cambozola Black Label described as a blue cheese ice cream, it’s a bold flavored gorgonzola cheese that is lovely and creamy
  • BelGioioso Fontina Cheese – smooth and buttery
  • White Stilton with cranberries from Trader Joes is such a delight of cream and fruit.
  • Unexpected Cheddar Cheese available at Trader Joes is a wonderful Cheddar with notes of Parmesean
  • Alpeost Cheese from Trader’s is such a wonderful staple of a cheese. It’s also very versatile.
  • Old Amsterdam Gouda is to scrumptious. It’s an amazing Gouda that’s a bit savory and a bit sweet.
  • Trader Jose’s Spanish Cheese Tapas Sampler is a wonderful little combo of Iberico, Cabra Al Vino and Manchego
  • Blue Cheese Stilton – this is a stinky and very bold cheese, but amazing in a salad or a bit on a herb cracker.

The list could go on and on, but the above are just a few favorites.

Wishing all a wonderful and Happy National Cheese Day.
