Each Day a Gift
Today I turn 50. Yes, five decades. I celebrate life for a half of a century! Where has the time gone?
Often birthdays help us reflect back on our life and help us set goals. These last fifty years have held amazing joys, triumphs, adventures as well as mountains, challenges and pain. Each of these things, good and tough, have mold me into who I am and have taught me lessons that are so rich.
I want to thank God for fifty years and the many blessings I have in my life. I also want to thank each of you for the part you’ve played. Each of you have loved and inspired me. Thank you. I’m so grateful. As a breast cancer survivor (of five years now), I realize that each day is a gift! We aren’t promised tomorrow. With that forefront on my mind, here are some things I’d like to see take place in my life this next year, God willing.
- Get healthier
- Take time to heal
- Lose weight
- Dream a little more
- Plan
- Love even more = time with family and friends
- Help others
- More adventure
- Enjoy my job and invest in my workplace
- Create more art to share with others
- Balance
- Work hard, play, and rest
- Give grace more often
- Be grateful!
While these are broad, they are thoughts from the heart. What would you like to see take place this next year? I’d love to know.
Thank you for being a part of my life and for the way you bless and enrich it! I am so grateful for each of you!

Happy Birthday . . . I love your list and will give it great thought but no quick answer here! I am thankful to have you in my life. I turn 65 this year hard to believe that one I do not even feel like I should be that old! But my mail box keeps reminding me and as do the insurance company and the government they all seem to be so caught up that I am going to 65 I sure hope they remember to send a card to me! Have a great day and a new year full of happiness, joy, family and friendships!
