Seize the Day! Life is Precious! The Classroom of Life!
This message is so loud and clear but it’s also so easy to forget in the pace of life. Recently for me, I’ve had amazing things happening but I’ve also had a huge amount of stress. I feel like ‘Stretch Armstrong’. For those of you who may not be from the same era . . . check it out here.
Our sweet girl is on an adventure of a lifetime in Costa Rica. She landed a spot on the team as a result of an Earth Science award. Her teacher and teacher’s wife are leading a team of about 12 and the adventures sound like they are more out of Indiana Jones. Absolutely incredible! Traveling by boat, plane, horseback, zip lines, suspended bridges, to places like volcanoes, rainforests, tropical beaches to experience wildlife and fauna . . . sloths, anteaters, crocodiles, monkeys, underwater creatures and more. Experiencing the culture . . . through cooking, art and even dance lessons. They are learning in the classroom of life.
I’m learning in the classroom of life as well. There are some amazing and exciting adventures ahead. I am so excited. Colorful adventures moving forward. So stay tuned. I posted on my Facebook a bit of a peek.
But I’m also dealing with great stress in some sad situations with family and friends. However, I’m here and I’m growing.
Through my cancer journey, life in general, tragedies and victories . . . I realize and I’m continuing to learn the importance of seizing each day . . . good, bad and indifferent. Some of the experiences have the ability to paralyze us if we let them. Each of these moments mold us. Our adventure is to take those things; learn and grow. There will be days we have to stop and just rest along the adventurous path but after doing so; move forward in faith using them for good. I’m also learning to push through some fear. I’ve never been a fearful person but after tragedies and things beyond my control, it’s there! Learning to move through it, not around it. Learning to accept things. Learning to embrace the purpose in the pain.
How about you? Is there a lesson you’re learning in the classroom of life? Any exciting adventures ahead? Things you’re learning.
Sending warmest wishes as you ‘seize your day.’
