    Sending Love with DIY Postcards

A couple of weeks back one of the gals in a very special circle of crafty friends mentioned that Mark Montano was doing a DIY Handcrafted Postcard Swap. The idea is to create your own postcards (ten to be exact), pay a small fee for handling, mailing and sorting, send to Mark and receive ten other postcards from around the world. It was a project to share a little love and care during these wild times in our world. Isn’t that kind of Mark Montano? I was really excited to be a part of the post card swap as it was a way to spread a little love. Here’s a…

Space Themed Junk Journal using Eileen Hull Dies

I’ve always loved learning about space. You know, the kind of space with stars, moons, suns, and more. My husband and I lived next to the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral for a couple of years. In fact, my daughter was born at Cape Canaveral Hospital. We saw night and day launches and learned so much. It was amazing. What a big wide beautiful universe we live in. It’s mysterious, amazing, and beyond comprehensible. I wanted the theme of my journal to be inspirational, uplifting and to be an encouragement. I wanted the journal to include a message to shoot for the stars, live a brave life, and reach…

Grateful for Smiles ~ Art Journal Page

I’m wondering if we took advantage of smiles from strangers in the past? Now, under a mask, we need to smile with our eyes, so to speak. Either way, there are ways we can convey a greeting such as a nod , a little wave, or a wink (if appropriate). I don’t know how many of you participate in the Ranger/Dina Wakley challenge. Each month both on Dina and Ranger’s website a prompt is posted. The challenge is to use the prompt and create with Dina Wakley media. You can create a tag, page, or anything. Post it with specific hashtags they provide. This month’s prompt is “I’m grateful for…

10 Ways to Add Sparkle Using Stickle’s Glitter Gel – #6

Once again, I am sharing at least ten ways to use Ranger’s fantastic luminous medium; Stickles Glitter Gel. You can purchase your Stickle’s Glitter Gel by Ranger at A Cherry On Top, HERE. A fun and easy way to add sparkle to page or project is to use the glitter gel as a background or accent on a mixed media project. Below I added the gel first and let it dry thoroughly. Then I layered paper, gesso, and other elements. The shimmer really adds an amazing touch to any project. On the following page spread I used; Ranger’s Stickle Gel – Supernova Tim Holtz Ideology Paper Dolls Tim Holtz Mini…

    Determine to Play

Play is so important for so many reasons. So it goes with art as well. Play allows us to learn with art, gives us new avenues and discoveries on how to use things, uncovering new techniques, and it relieves stress. Tags are great ways to play as they are small and not overwhelming. Below are a couple of recent tags I created. It was nice just taking some moments away from what is going on in our world to create something colorful and fun. Art can be a respite. I wish for you a little time to play, relax and escape. Have you taken some time for yourself? Warmest creative…
