    The Gift of Crafting Together

Saturday was a gift crafting with new and old friends. I had the pleasure of teaching a holiday make and take using fabulous Colorbox products. Check it out below. It is always a gift to craft together. The laughs while creating with your hands is good for the heart. See below a couple ways to use this technique ad these products. Also see some crafters who enjoyed the make and take. It got very busy so these were the only crafters I was able to snap in a photo. Love their smiles. Wendy Crafts, you do an amazing job at your events. Thank you! For the poinsettia tag below, here’s…

    Easy Sweet Crafted Candy Canes

Need a quick mini gift or something to beautify the top of a gift? Here is a quick, fun, inexpensive idea.  What you’ll need: Chenille pipe cleaners in red and white, a pair of scissors, Smooch Spritz (I used Spun Sugar – one of my favorite colors), scrap piece of fabric, safety pin, small ‘shipping’ tag and some plastic to cover your area. The How To: Take red pipe cleaner and wrap it diagonally around the white pipe cleaner until used up. Trim the excess. Bend your red/white striped pipe cleaners into a candy cane shape. It doesn’t need to be perfect, in fact if it’s not, it gives it…

DIY Signs ~ A New Place in Town

Signs are a great way to convey love or a message of encouragement in your home. I’ve always loved taking something old and repurposing it such as the sign below in which was simply a rusted oval. I created something new when I added letters and a rose embellishment. As well, I love signs big and small throughout my home to communicate something special or serve as a reminder. See below just a few signs I have in my room. If you’re in Orange County, California, specifically Lake Forest, where I happen to live, and you enjoy DIY, you may want to check out Board and Brush Creative Studio. Before…

Soul Words ~ A Quick Healthy Soul Exercise

Working full-time I realize I need to get some Soul Nourishment in before my day starts because once I get to work it’s 0 – 60 in no time flat. My day gets going at a busy pace so making sure I take a break some days is a necessity. That brings me to a soul nourishing exercise that is quick, easy and refreshing. The Exercise: In the image below I’ve listed some soul words. Simply take a planner (your current one or an old one), journal, or even a sheet of paper and say the word out loud. Write the word on your paper and then ponder what that…

Been A While & An Idea for Your Leftover Easter Egg Dyes

Greetings.  It’s been a while.  Life has been a bit crazy lately on this end.  I hope you’re well!  I have been a little M.I.A. but I’m on the mend.  For a few weeks I had been putting in quite a few hours at work and then . . . pneumonia.  So I’ve been off for a couple days resting and healing! I plan on sharing some posts here in the next couple weeks surrounding my creative planner.  I hope to do a little wrap up for each three months of the year.  I love that my memory and creative planner are helping me to document life (that seems to…

Crafting Egg Rolls – A DIY

Life has been busy.  I did want to however share with you a fun recipe and party idea. A couple months ago I was invited to attend an event an Egg Roll Party.  What fun it was and I rolled my very first egg roll. My friend (who is a beautiful Vietnamese gal) taught us how to make these delights and I captured it on a ‘raw’ video to share with you.  Pardon the background noise, it is a party.  So if you’ve ever wondered how to make an egg roll . . . here’s the how to.   P.S. ~ You can purchase egg roll wrappers at most grocery stores.…

    Easy Bag Upcycle

Do you have odds and ends, scraps of beauty, little pieces, bits and baubles in your art/craft area or studio?  If you’re like me, there are all those pretty bits that I have a difficult time saying goodbye to.  So, recently I washed a linen bag with a logo on it and when I took it out of the wash, the logo was gone.  I needed to add some loveliness to this comfortable bag of mine so I grabbed some beautiful pieces, made some fabric flowers, brought out some stamps, used some tacky glue and started to simply add some dimension and fun to my bag.  It’s my mixed media bag . . .…
