Fodder Clips

In Art Journals, on Instagram . . . Fodder is all the wow right now. What is it? Well, we aren’t talking about the Old English word for food, but rather maybe food for art journals. It’s sometimes called ‘fodder’ or ‘collage fodder.’ It’s bits, pieces, and materials you create to include in art journals or other creative projects. Fodder can be anything from scraps, gel press prints, punched elements, painted bits and baubles.

With that being said, I joined the wave of creating fodder. I also wanted to use my fodder. When I found these chalkboard clothespins at Hobby Lobby for $1.19, I thought ‘fodder.’ So I created some fodder clips. I got home, started creating and didn’t stop for about an hour. When I was done, I had about 24 clips.

You could use these clips in an art journal, to close a gift, trade with a friend, and more. I love the hand one . . . I think ‘high five’ or ‘raising a hand.’

If you’d like to see some more detail, I posted these in groups on my Instagram account. There were about four posts and feel free to view HERE.

If you feel inspired by these, would you make sure you use #fodderclips and maybe even tag me if you were inspired @artsychick2. I’d love to see what you create.

I’m all about using what you have. Looking for more ways to incorporate your goods into handcrafted journals? You might enjoy THIS.

Wishing all a creative and beautiful day!
