Don’t Forget the Lessons Learned

Oh this year. Can we cross it off the big calendar? Well, not so quick. While it has been a year of loss, disappointment, grief, and some sadness for our family, there has also been creativity, love, unique ways of sharing, acts of kindness, and more.

When things are tough, hard, nasty, deep, crazy . . . there are still lessons to be learned.

  • How can we help others during this time of need? What are some ways you’ve been creative in doing so?
  • How are we reaching out? I’m sure that looks different in a pandemic.
  • Things take a little more effort. What are some ways things have become easier. Instacart?
  • What are some things that you’ve tried during this time? Something new you’ve learned?
  • The losses – What can I cherish that person, dream, or loss?
  • What’s something you’ve done that you never thought you’d do? Finish a book? Complete dozens of puzzles? For me . . . social distance at hundreds of feet in a hot air balloon for our anniversary. It was awesome.
  • Maybe we’ve become a little less patient, or more patient? Understanding we are all experiencing stress. It’s so important to give one another grace. I’m not perfect at this art either but realize I need to practice more.
  • Buy TP when you see it in the store.

Whether a valley or peak, it’s always so important to remember that there are lessons in the journey. Lessons of growth and lessons that will make us stronger and more creative.

I created the following art journal spread as a reminder to remember the lessons of growth. To create these pages I loved using a softer palette with my Gel Press plate and a Stencil Girl Products stencil. Love this stencil. A new fav. They work so well together.

Are you an art journaler? Want to know more about art journaling? THIS may be for you.

Hoping you can reflect and remember the important lessons, even if they were tough.
