California Dream’in Gel Press Print & Inspiration
“California was almost entirely a dream, a dream vague but deep in the minds of westering people.” ~ Bernard De Voto
I’m a native Californian. I’ve traveled to some amazing places in this world. While California has some real quirks and the traffic can be such a hassle, it’s a state full of such beauty. From the deserts, mountains and the oceans, it has a unique beauty all it’s own. One thing as well, you just can’t beat the weather. I do love Fall and can’t wait for it to get here, but in the meantime, I’ll enjoy the sunshine here in Cali. At least it’s not triple digits.
I created a Gel Press print with California in mind. In the future I’ll make a print signifying the amazing Pacific Ocean. The print below reflects the local foothills with it’s mix of cacti, blooms, daisies, brush and lovely trees.
What does Fall look like for you right now? I know friends in Montana and family in Minnesota got a dusting of snow.
What I used:
- 8 x 10 Gel Press Plate
- Acrylic Paint – Anita’s Paint in Sunflower, Master’s Touch – Raw Umber, Liquitex Basics Metallic – Copper, Golden – Titanium Buff
- Stencils – Dina Wakley – Petals, Joggles – Daisy Stencil
- Stamp – Spellbinders by Tammy Tutterow – Big Fabric
- Copy Paper
- Extra bits of paint leftover from past prints which you can’t plan by you can embrace and love
