Word of the Year – Good Expectations for 2015
This past week it was so appropriate that I received an early copy of Jewelry Affaire that contained an article and necklace tutorial on my word of the year for 2014. 2014 was a year of sadness, uncertainty, and challenge filled with some times of joy, accomplishment and celebration as well. My word of 2014 was TRUST and I created a necklace to remind me of just that.
My word for 2015 is COURAGE and my verse, “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men (and women) of courage; be strong.” ~ 1 Corinthians 16:13. I enjoy creating something as a reminder throughout the year of my word and goal. I want to be courageous and have no fear giving my everything in faith, risks, love, heart and life. I’ve never thought of myself as a fearful person but this year after certain circumstances, I found myself experiencing it more often than I like. I will be creating a piece of jewelry as a reminder of my Word of the Year – Courage. My courage doesn’t come from me but rather from above! How about you? Do you choose a word?
If you’d like to see more jewelry projects in Jewelry Affaire you can do so when they hit the racks January 1. There are some beautiful projects from artists like my talented and dear friend Rita Reade.

Cheryl, I can’t believe that I have this same verse ( &v14) written on an erasable board in our back hall right now! I like to have a bible verse that I want to remember where I see it as I am walking out the door to face my day. This verse touched my heart at a recent Women’s Bible Study. Now I will also think of you each time I read it! Praying 2015 will be your year to courageously stand firm in faith when giving of your love in all aspects of your life.

I have chosen a word for these last two years. I haven’t chosen my new word yet- nothing has felt “right” yet.
Courage is a good, strong word b
Happy New Year, my friend!

Your pendant is beautiful! I have the dies, bezels, and resin in that same shape and think putting my word for the year in it would be a great way to help with the thought process and then reminding me of my word. I have been searching my heart and passing on it. I’m not 100% sure, but I think my word is healing. The chronic muscle spasms I still have a little over a year later are so debilitating it has really taken over, but healing can apply to do many other ways in my life. I do still have a very positive outlook and have not, and don’t pan to, give up hope for a full recovery. I will have one more treatment of botox and if that is not successful, I will have to see a new specialist in Phoenix.
Congratulations on your beautiful article! I love that you go for the classy magazines.
