Benefits of Calming ‘Indigo’ Blue

Blue has always been one of my favorite colors and did you know that it’s the color most preferred by men? Blue has been described by psychologists as evoking a peaceful and calm feeling. It’s often used as well by marketers to promote stability, security, sincerity, and reliability. It’s even said that blue can lower a pulse.

Recently I pulled out some Indigo dye that I had on hand and went to town! If I had more room, I might have just dyed a ton more different items. Anyhow, I loved the results I got, and a bonus, it smells like blueberries.

Here are some of the items I dyed; shipping tags, Tim Holtz Distress tags, fabric, lace, bits of paper scraps, cardboard, clothespins, dictionary pages and even some similarly colored gel prints. I love the results and can’t wait to use them in my journals.

Another favorite for me is sunshine or ochre yellow. What color are you crushing on these days?

Warmest creative wishes,
