Along the Passage – Indigo Art Journaling

I’ve lived over 50 years and life can come with some very big surprises. I’ve often thought about these. Sometimes we have goals we’ve set for ourselves and we can call those ‘destinations.’ Other times, there are those surprises, whether good, joyfully unexpected, bad, ugly, or difficult that we can call ‘detours.’ It’s what we make of those detours that matters. They can be so deep and so hard, but you know what? They don’t have to be without purpose. We can learn and grow from them. We can find an unexpected path that we would have never gone down. We can use the pain to help another.

Thinking and pondering on these things, I created this art journaling page titled ‘Along the passage’ in a small journal I made of fabric. I originally created the fabric journal with Eileen Hull’s Pocket journal. The inside pages are kraft colored and I used the beautiful color Indigo. I also used my Gel Press plate to create some texture on the pages as well as the elements.

Have you experienced an unexpected detour recently?

Warmest creative wishes,
