Organizing – With What You Have

I don’t know about you, but I don’t have the money to purchase a large organization cabinet with all the bells and whistles or to redo every container to match. Would I like to, yes, but I’m being real here. Getting your art studio or creative space organized with what you have or inexpensive options can boost creativity and productivity. I think if I had the choice and won the lottery tomorrow, I just might purchase a bit of a better system but I’d keep it eclectic and where I could see it. I do like my system now, it’s just it could always use improvement. But one of the…

    Making New Things Old

I love the look of old things. I found an awesome old scrapbook at a sale for $5. The binding was hurting so I saved the front and back covers and added my own pages. I wanted to embellish it with old buttons but didn’t have ones that looked old enough. So . . . I made my own. Planning on making some yourself? You can use ‘old’ buttons to make jewelry, set in a cute teacup, or adorn your own art journal. Want to make your own ‘antique buttons?’ Simple. You’ll need: Red colored paint (Brand I used was Folk Art) Brown colored paint (Brand I used was Folk…

    Vintage Inspired Organization

While I’m a very creative person, I do like to have order to the madness of art supplies, personal items, clothes, etc. I find that if I see it, I’ll use it more often. One thing I enjoy is finding ways to use vintage items to keep order and stay organized.  I love scarves and hats of all kinds. Recently I wanted to bring my scarves out of a small drawer and into the open so I could see them. I found this mini ladder and thought it was perfect to display and organize my scarves. I love the outcome. How about you . . . what is something you’d…

Treasure Found – Vintage Planner Storage

Oh how I love finding something that is old, vintage or vintage looking which is also bargain that can be used for storage of art supplies!  A while back on Instagram and Facebook I shared a great piece I found to house and store my paint brushes.  As well, I found a great carrier for some fav washi tapes.  Clear and convenient. Recently I found this darling box made for housekeeping supplies but I thought about what a great storage it would make for my planner items.  It lifts up into two pieces and has sections in the top tier.  The bottom portion of the box/tin is for larger items.…

Treasures ~ In Life and Found at the Lovely Vintage Marketplace

I hope you enjoyed the video and coming on a little field trip of vintage bliss with me.  If you missed that you can see more here. With all the hardwork that Rita, Christy and all the vendors do to provide such a lovely experience .  . . I wanted to just give a little lovely to say thank you for all she does but most important for who she is. I had earned some money from a bracelet I created/sold as well as some ‘magazine publication’ funds.   I was on a budget but oh the lovely steals I found. To those vintage labels I’ll be adding a tag that reads…
