Peak Creative Time For You

I’ve always been s night owl however after going through breast cancer treatment a few years ago, I found that my body can’t stay up that long anymore. Even though this is true, I still find that the peak creative time for me is in the stillness of the night when all is quiet expect for my imagination.  In fact, sometimes it’s hard to turn off.

After being sick for several days and having a lot on my mind, I enjoyed the quite prayerful creative time to watercolor and doodle. I loved watching how the colors fell on the watercolor tin and n the paper. The hues when mixed made some alluring colors.

What’s your peak creative time? Maybe your creative time doesn’t include watercolor but stitching, knitting, creative writing, woodworking or something totally different? Are you an early riser or a night owl?

“The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off of our souls.” ~ Pablo Picasso

I sketched and then made some copies of the sketch so I could try different hues, etc. A good way to keep your work for future projects as well.

Have you seen the BBC series Poldark? This gal came from my imagination however now that I look back at her, I think she may remind me of ‘Demelza.’ That’s what I will name her. I believe she has a look of soft determination.
I will name her Valentine as I created her with a heart in mind. Can you see it? She’s not finished but hopefully she will be by February 14.

Warmest Creative Wishes,

Love the art…I love watercolors. My dream would be to learn how to paint with watercolors properly. I am not a night owl. I get up quite early. I can sit for hours in front of my craft table in the middle of the night. I have stories about my mid-night adventures. LOL

Sweet Debby, I don’t have any formal training with watercolors but I’m happy to try and share what I’ve learned. I love that you are still making time to create. xoxo

I used to be a night-owl, before kids, but now I’m an early bird. I wish I could use the night time for creativity, but I just don’t have the energy at the end of the day!
