Miraculous Strength

As many of you know, my husband and I just returned from Montana settling our daughter at Montana State University. It was an amazing trip, amazing university, beautiful place, incredible faculty and education, special time connecting with old friends and family and so much more.  Of course it was difficult leaving our girl there (I wanted to stay as well), however our little birdie is ready to fly and she is doing just that!  I see her strength!

So we are back to ‘the grind’ here in California.  So much has been taking place; friends who are ill, the devastation in Texas, friends who are struggling and more.

It got me thinking about Strength.  One of the definitions of strength is the quality of being strong.  Let’s look at strong.  It’s an adjective and one of its meanings . . . able to withstand great force or pressure.

I’ve been watching our fellow Americans in Texas withstand great force, pressure and obstacles.  We as a nation have endured hardship but we are strong when we are united!  The force of the human spirit is quite miraculous.

What individuals endure in their lives and yet still continue to survive and thrive is unbelievable.  In fact, often I see it as such beauty when people overcome!

There have been times in my life I look back I wonder how I made it through, but I did.  It was a miracle.  Not so much the cancer . . . I felt so lifted up by you at that time, but those deep valleys.

When you’re feeling down, beaten, discouraged . . . remember how far you’ve come!  You are quite the miracle.  Remember that you are strong.  Sometimes putting one foot in front of the other is all you can do and that is a feat of enormous strength and fortitude.

Here’s a little sketch I did in my sketchbook.  My daughter loves horses, as many do.  They are such beautiful animals and a symbol of beauty and strength.

We all do need one another however.  If you are looking for places too give . . . they are abundant.  HERE is a good start.

Your horse is beautiful, Cheryl! You are so right about the strength we each possess. When we just don’t think we can take one more step, yet we are able to take two or three! No one really knows just how strong they are until they are put in the position to find out. The thing about life is that, eventually, we are each put in that situation…often it isn’t really IT the first time you feel like it is. Because, there are times after that, that we look back to that first time we thought we just couldn’t have taken something worse. That first situation now seems like it was simply a small dose to prepare us to handle the times we would need all of the strength we can really muster!

I know that sounds complicated – the way I am saying it. But, since I am writing to the queen of strength, I realize what I said is isn’t something you didn’t already know!

    Hugs, Marianne
