A Coastal Trip and College Visits – Part 2

While we are experiencing Yellowstone National Park, I wanted to share for those of you who op asked.

What an amazing trip along the California.  You can find the first part of our adventure here.  At any time in any of the photo areas, click on a photo and it will enlarge and allow you to scroll through the photos.

Continuing on our trip up and down the California Coast . . .

Next we headed back down the coast we made a stop at another college Abby was excited about; Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.  We did the self-guided tour for this campus.  Since Abby wants to major in Veterinarian Medicine, this school is popular for it’s hands on.  It was fun to see the campus and their passion for agriculture, farming and animals.

We also made a stop and took a visit of the Cal State Channel Island campus.  Channel Island Dolphins. It was a beautiful campus tucked away near Camarillo.  It had a ‘mission’ feel to it.  After leaving this campus, we headed South again along the coast and even made another stop to visit the elephant seals .

After our visit at Cal Poly SLO, we had planned a stop at an ostrich farm we had visited before.  It was fun feeding these guys.  Then we stayed in Solvang, (a favorite growing up); a Danish town in the Santa Ynez valley.  We had a lovely time experiencing some of the culture.  We had a traditional Danish dinner and the Danish breakfast was even better.  As well, we found the cutest craft show with a little bit of everything.  It was called “Knit Fit – A Creative Community’.  We really enjoyed our stay in Solvang and before heading home we stopped to visit the miniature horses.  We were able to view a sweet two day old baby.

While it was a whirlwind of a trip, we had a load of fun, a great education and thoroughly enjoyed!

Any questions, please feel free to ask.  We did learn a lot and I’d be happy to share any other details or questions you might have.  Thanks for sharing this experience with us.  The pictures don’t do it justice.
